WEEK 2 - REPETITION & REFLEXION

Imagen
Although this week we only had one session due to the novatadas , this post will be a little longer to compensate. It turned out to be a session full of debates and reflections, the kind that make you reconsider what kind of teacher you want to be. SESSION 1: (THE ONLY ONE) We began by giving voice to those classmates who had not yet introduced themselves in the first week. After that, we moved on to a key moment: the draw for the submission dates of the two most important assignments of the semester, scheduled for November and December. Once this was done, we started to work on Unit  1: The Spanish Educational System . Our professor, María Isabel Rodríguez Martín, shared her experience fighting for our rights as students and future teachers within the framework of the LOMLOE. She stressed how Primary Education teachers should not be assigned to Early Childhood Education, according to the law. This led us directly into a passionate debate about grade repetition . WEEK 1 - RECONNECTION

This week began as a journey of rediscovery. From the very first session, I felt myself reconnecting with the essence of who I am as a future teacher. Sharing where we are from and a meaningful aspect of ourselves made me reflect deeply on why I chose this path. I realized that my passion for teaching was ignited by a teacher I admired, Belén. Through her dedication, care, and genuine vocation, I discovered the path I wanted to follow—a path that requires heart, patience, and persistence. This week, I felt that spark again, that core of my teacher-self, reminding me why I love this profession. SESSION 1: In our first session, we introduced ourselves and learned about the structure of the subject. Professor María Isabel Rodríguez Martín explained attendance, the syllabus, and the evaluation system, emphasizing the importance of consistency due to the number of assignments. She guided us on forming groups and introduced platforms like Procomún for finding teaching resources. Be...

Although in previous years this blog has been a framework to share reflections on other courses, this time it takes on a different and very special meaning. It will not only serve as a space to publish a weekly diary of the subject I am about to present, but also as a medium to reflect on my own final stage of learning as a future teacher. The subject is Didactics of the English Language , which is part of the English specialization within my degree in Primary Education at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Faculty of Education, Toledo, “Fábrica de Armas”), taught by Professor María Isabel Rodríguez Martín. This course is not just another subject to complete, but rather a continuation and deepening of what we studied in third year with  methodology. However, this time, the focus is more applied to the classroom: exploring different ways of teaching, ...
